Screen Recorder
Record your screen, microphone and a camera picture-in-picture into one video. The whole pipeline runs in the browser — the file never leaves this device. After you press Start, the browser asks what to share; tick “Share audio” if you want system sound.

Before you start
- System audioAfter you press Start, the browser asks what to share. To capture system sound you must tick “Share audio” / “Share system audio” at the bottom of that dialog. Without it you may get only video and microphone.
- MicrophoneEnabling the microphone requests permission on its own — no screen share needed. The recording mixes system audio and microphone together.
- CameraTurn it on before pressing Start. It is overlaid as a circular picture-in-picture in the bottom-right corner and is locked while recording.
- Chrome / Edge / FirefoxChrome and Edge support system audio; Firefox usually records microphone only. Most mobile browsers do not support screen capture. Screen capture requires HTTPS (or localhost).
What gets recorded
After you press Start the browser asks what to share: the entire screen, a window, or a tab. A tab is cleanest for web demos, a window for a single app, and the entire screen only when the workflow crosses apps. Nothing is recorded until you confirm — cancelling leaves no file behind.
System audio is a checkbox
At the bottom of the share dialog there is a “Share audio” option. If it is not ticked, system sound is not in the recording, and nothing on screen will tell you. The microphone is a separate path: enabling it requests its own permission. Firefox has limited system-audio support; use Chrome or Edge for the full feature set.
The file lives in this tab
Recordings are kept in this page’s memory. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is written to your downloads folder unless you press Download. Refreshing or closing the tab discards the list, so download what you need first. The format list is the same story: it only contains containers this browser really supports.
Questions
No. The page uses the browser’s own screen capture and MediaRecorder — no plug-in and no server-side encoding. Desktop Chrome or Edge is recommended.
Press Start, choose a screen / window / tab, then tick “Share audio” at the bottom of the dialog before confirming. Without that tick the result may contain only video and microphone.
Most often the audio checkbox was left unticked. The other limits are the browser and the OS: Firefox has limited system-audio support, and some macOS setups need a virtual audio device. This page does not pretend to bypass those limits.
Yes, but both must be enabled before you press Start. The camera appears as a circular picture-in-picture in the bottom-right corner. The toggles lock once recording starts — swapping cameras mid-recording would desynchronise audio and video, so this version does not offer it.
The list is queried from the browser at runtime: usually WebM (VP9 / VP8), and MP4 in some browsers. Unsupported types are left out rather than forced in — forcing one makes MediaRecorder throw, which looks like “the button does nothing”.
No. Capture, compositing and encoding all happen on this device with no upload request. It works offline.
Check that screen capture is supported and the page is on HTTPS (or localhost), and that you did not cancel the share dialog. If it still fails, close other screen-recording software or try Chrome / Edge.
